PC Magazine, a leading technology publication, and Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), a leading printer and multifunctional testing laboratory, recently recommended Lexmark International, Inc.'s (NYSE: LXK)

color laser printer for workgroups looking for high-quality color printing performance and a variety of paper handling options.

BLI gave the Lexmark C782dtn, which adds two-sided printing and an extra 500 sheets of input capacity to the C782n model, a "Highly Recommended" and "Highly Reliable" rating, saying the device "gave an exceptional performance throughout its two-month lab assessment, earning ratings of Excellent or Very Good in nearly all aspects of evaluation."

BLI praised the Lexmark C782dtn for durability, speed, image quality, ease of use and security features. "Based on its flawless reliability and extremely strong performance, BLI highly recommends the C782dtn for color environments printing up to 20,000 impressions per month," BLI said.

PC Magazine reviewed the C782n model and praised the device's extensive paper handling options, which include a maximum of 3,100 sheets of input, a five-bin mailbox, a 650-sheet output expander, a stapling finisher, an envelope drawer, a banner media tray to accommodate paper up to 8.5-inch by 48-inch, and an outdoor media tray for specialty water- and weather-resistant paper.

"The C782 can easily do the job it's meant to in a small to medium-size office or workgroup, but the real argument for getting it is to take advantage of its paper handling," PC Magazine said.

"Few, if any, printers in this price range – and none that I've tested – come close to offering as many paper-handling options," said M. David Stone, PC Magazine's lead analyst for printers.

"Extensive paper handling is especially important for customers looking to improve productivity and reduce costs by bringing color print jobs in house," said Marty Canning, Lexmark vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division. "The Lexmark C782n was designed to help customers print everything from outdoor signage to professional-quality color brochures right in their office."
